love is in the air

        After a brief chapter about evolution in biology, my dad questioned me about how love can evolve from nothing or some chemical reaction. What is the formula? Does this all happen by chance? I believe that love is a miraculous energy that God created that can be expressed through millions of different ways. Through family, friendship and most importantly relationship, we can experience a type of warmth. It is true, down-to-earth and simple.
        It’s been four days into Christmas break. Christmas is a time where I remember Jesus coming down to earth. But other than celebrating a birth, it is a great reminder of God’s love. He has granted me with food, clothing, shelter and friends. If it weren’t for a Christmas sharing on Friday by a great friend, I wouldn’t have remembered about being thankful for my family. I have a family that cares, love and showered me with things that I need but also things that I want. This perfect environment is the reason why I am always smiling and never lonely. There are so many people in this world that would long for my life, so I truly thank God for it!
                                      For all those who are reading my blog, remember to be thankful!
         My friend, Samantha, once told me to tell her if she starts changing for a guy that she falls in love with. I laughed at her and I was sure that if a person falling in love, would actually undergo some sort of ‘change’…
          After Saturday, I have to admit this statement is true; the difference in a certain someone is very 'obvious' this Christmas season! :) 

I guess love IS in the air!

failure. The way I feel about myself today...I did a horrible job and my head is filled with regret. I want to go back and do it all over again but that's simply impossible. Bible study yesterday was a big mess! I felt like I was speaking about the bible but not being productive about it. My group deserved a better bible study leader and a better bible study.         As a long-time asian drama viewer, my friends, family members and I always critique television shows for depicting unrealistic lifestyles and showcasing illogical love stories. Hospital Playlist is a clear exception, as it illustrates the life of five long-time friends who meet in medical school. They eventually wind up working as surgeons in Yulje Hospital. As they deal with the emotional roller coaster that comes with being a doctor, Professor Song-hwa, Ik-Joon, Jun-wan, Seok-Hyung and Jeong-Won also tackle normal life as a 40 year old. Just like ordinary humans, we often forget that doctors are also succumb to sickness, familial problems and career changes. The "slice of life" drama does not shy away from illustrating the two-fold life of a doctor- both as society's superheroes and ordinary individuals.        As an Asian-Canadian, I sincerely thank the producers, actors and writers of "It's Okay Not to Be Okay" for creating a drama that sheds light on mental illnesses and childhood trauma. While illustrating a beautiful love story, they have opened the door for viewers to discuss and reflect on our mental health and emotional burdens. By breaking the stigma around mental health issues, "It's Okay Not to Be Okay" is a healing television series that explores the life of an eccentric fairytale author (Moon-young) and psychiatric hospital nurse (Gang-tae).
