music to my ears

Because I ride the bus everyday to school now, music has definitely become an important aspect of my life...here are some songs that I have been listening to, as a tackle my first difficult year in university.

1) Give Me Faith- Elevation Worship
This was the first song I listened to on my first day of school. Having been introduced this tune by a counsellor for our fellowship retreat, she told that me that listening to it made her tear up...and it has certainly impacted my life. The lines 'I may be weak, but your Spirit's strong in me, my flesh may fail, but my God you never will.' That describes the motivation that I need to continually inject into my body. This song has definitely reminded me time and time again that no matter how crappy I am, the grace of God conquers all.

2) I Will Follow- Chris Tomlin
A classic song that my church sings every single month...but it was during a Joint Missions Conference that I prompted me to understand the words that Chris wrote. 'Where you go, I'll go...' The calling to commit my life to Him and not prestige/wealth/money has affirmed God's vocation for me to be an educator. Even though God's plan on how I am going to get there is still vague and unclear, but I am sure that if I follow His path, He will guide me to victory.
Whenever I am unclear about decisions, this song is definitely my go-to because the words remind me of the Leader that is paves my paths.

3) Right here, Right now- High School Musical
Every time I listen to it, it reminds me of that one night when the girls in the 195 clan came over to my house for a farewell party. We watched and sang to HSM3, the best musical movie back in my 'day.' I will be fans of Troy and Gabriella forever!!!! This song reminds me of all my friends, one that care and love me for who I am.
They really encourage me so that my confidence soars across the skies! They have shown me what it truly means to glorify God through service

4) Hello- Adele
Listening to it on the bus for the first time made me want to cry. Her vocals are amazing and she grasps the perfect emotion of heartbreak-something that I have felt again and again over the past several months. It's truly a God-given gift that she can be able to sing with such passion and emotion!!

....more to come
