choices

Over the past 48 hours, a piece of news struck me to get onto the computer and write this blog. I struggled grouping my thoughts about this blog because in my blog, I often write myself and my feeling about things going on in my life...but this time, it's more of my reflection on choices that other people made in their life.           In my life, I've made countless decisions, small decisions like 'I am going to wear a hoodie to school today' or 'I'm ready to get baptized '  These decisions were made after some thoughts.  *sigh* God didn't create relationships to be like this.....ahhhh! To all those reading my blog, seek God to make the decisions in your life, because only He (through the bible) can give you the correct answer to how to life that is Christ-centered.            This mypersonal blog is the one and only place where I can express my opinions about this, I'm...

searching for love

Over the past month, I've been learning about what it means to start a 'Christ-centred relationship' and all that dating stuff at church. I was struck by the boundaries that Christians must follow but I also understand all these things are meant for my good...but back at school, I would always wonder in the crowd of people during lunch, who would I date?           Just like any teen girl, every now and then, I feel "desperate," and I want to be in a relationship and have a boy that gives me flowers on Valentines Day. I wonder if it's my looks, or my mature personality that scares boys away. All these uncertainties and thoughts creep into my head...and eventually, I ask God, why?  why? why?           Recently, I watched Nick Vujicic's 60 Minute Interview that featured his wife. I was inspired by how his disability didn't keep himself away from meeting a girl he loved. I became a...

march

It's April 15, and it's a little late to write a reflection on March...but here it is! March 2013 became the month that has changed my life forever, for the good of course! I have experienced something called love like I have never seen before...Through three events, Winter Camp, Baptism and Easter...         First, Winter Camp. It was my first time serving so many teenagers and I never thought I would ever do it. But as the pastor at my church said this past Sunday, "We live by faith and not by sight." I have never been so dedicated to serving God before. From start to finish, I felt that God was carrying me through. He often reminded me that this camp is not about "me" but Him. I can truly say that I can now continue to challenge myself with other serving opportunities. I am willing to let go and let God lead me to where HE wants me to be.        Secondly, Baptism. An ev...

this time of year again

For the past 7 years of my life, the months of April and May are certainly the roller coasters of the year. I have definetely learned multiple mental and practical lessons. Things like where to stand in front of the judges..or how to be more effective in practice. Speech competitions have driven me up the roof but also happiness for many reasons.            I've been very happy that I was raised in a Christian family where I was raised up really happily. There weren't a lot of fights or family problems that people may assumed in the typical "American family." God has simply blessed me with family, church and friends that cared. But in speech competition, I experienced downfall where I had to ask God to pick up back up because I couldn't settle for defeat. The greater lessons seem to unfold each year and I simply couldn't ask for more. In...

unity

It's hard to understand what "unity" truly menas until you've actually experienced it yourself! Last night, I really got a chance to see "unity" unravel before my eyes! Sing, Dance, Cheer and Laugh are four simple verbs that are around us every single day, but when you see it done in worship and praise to our Heavenly Father, I understand what people mean when they say the Body of Believers...      I had a great time yesterday not because of those awkward moments during our presentation when we weren't insync but the moments where we all had a common goal..and that was to send our wishes to someone who was in need of encourgement and prayer... "From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does it work..." Ephesians 4:16 Delta Force Together, God's Love Forever ~ch

being "chair"

Each time I close my eyes, I still snapshots and memories of this March Break's Winter Camp @UCC. If anyone told me several years ago that I would be part of a committee that would plan for this event, I would have probably laughed and said this was a complete joke. But here I am, and God truly blessed me with the opportunity to work with Raphy, Steve and Montana to plan a camp filled with memories and laughter!        God's plans are truly amazing and He has certainly blessed me with this opportunity to lead this year. Being a "chair" seemed like the scariest thing, but God made this job look so great! I pray that He will continue to give me courage to step onto other serving role and serve for His will...         Despite having many difficulties and hardships along the way, I truly thank previous chairs and family that have supported me along the way!         Even thou...

valentine's day

I thought that today was a really interesting day filled with surprises and happiness. I never remembered seeing the traditional Valentine's Day as such an important day for teenagers. Valentine's Day seem to be more than just a normal day for those that are in a romantic relationship...but also a time for friends to show that they care for one another. Walking down the hallway, I saw girls wearing the typical red, white and pink valentine's day colours and...of course, the flowers in some their hands as they walk from class to class. It was a very different atmosphere and there were some moments where I felt the prescence of LOVE...             Well, I believe that LOVE doesn't just exsist in typical relationships and friendship but also through our families. I hope that anyone that see this blog will remember the LOVE that their brothers, sisters, mother and fathers have give...
